Marriott Residence Inn Hotel

Set in the Financial District, this modern extended-stay hotel features "residence" suites with in-room kitchen units, a sky lobby and third-floor restaurant.

As Construction Manager on the project, Mc Gowan provided services for the conversion and complete redevelopment of an existing nineteen-story 20th-century commercial office building into the new twenty-story, 243-room hotel.

The extensive project required a complete demolition of the interiors, MEP systems and vertical transportation. The project's structural complexities included removing one of the two existing lower-level floors and construction of a new top floor to house new mechanical systems. The work included relocation of existing stairs, removing one of the four existing elevators and its shaft to create additional floor area and extensive structural work to accomodate the building's three-floor retail tenant.
