Haven Charter School

Mc Gowan is engaged as Construction Manager for the new Haven Charter School in the Bronx, NY. Designed by KSS Architects and developed by Civic Builders, the project involves the construction of a modern, multi-level educational facility tailored to the school’s mission of providing a nurturing and academically rigorous environment for its students.

The new school will feature a full-size gymnasium, cafeteria, commercial kitchen, science and art classrooms, breakout rooms, sensory rooms, administrative offices, and multiple general-use classrooms—each designed to support flexible learning, student wellness, and accessibility. The building also includes infrastructure for rooftop solar readiness and modern MEP systems to support long-term operational efficiency.

Mc Gowan’s role spans from preconstruction through vertical construction, managing budgeting, constructability reviews, and logistics planning, with a focus on maintaining schedule and budget targets through careful coordination of staging, public safety, and utility tie-ins in a dense Bronx neighborhood.
