Esprit at Staten Island Mall

Esprit International retained Mc Gowan as General Contractor for its new store located in the Staten Island Mall, the largest mall in the borough.

The high-end retail project encompassed a new storefront and entrance, a complete fit-out of the sales floor, changing rooms, a storage and employee area, and new and upgraded MEP systems.

The finishes include hardwood oak flooring, sheetrock ceilings, painted walls, recessed glass and sheetrock shelving and decorative wall panels imported from Germany. The panels feature varied materials such as perforated metal, wood and acrylic.

The MEP systems include modified HVAC ductwork and controls, upgraded sprinklers, recessed and track lighting fixtures in the ceilings, and lighting behind the back-lit wall panels.

To deliver the project on a fast-tracked five week schedule the team extended work time to include overtime. Mc Gowan utilized subcontractors and suppliers from the mall owner’s pre-approved list.

The project involved several long lead items including lighting fixtures and wall panels that were ordered 12 weeks in advance to accommodate the manufacturing schedule and to allow for overseas shipping.
