Discount fashion retailer Loehmann's multi-store, multi-state construction, renovation, and expansion projects ranged from 10,000 to 30,000 square feet in property size.
The fit-outs typically involved carpet & VCT flooring, painted walls and slatwall panels, luminescent and spot lighting, 2 ft x 4 ft suspended acoustical ceilings, millwork and casework, installation of promotional displays and signage, new storefronts, windows and entrances, new or upgraded MEP systems, and many new or renovated elevators and elevator shafts.
Although the projects varied in scope and size, each presented similar complexities including very short deadlines and pre-purchasing of long-lead items such as elevators.
In urban areas, Mc Gowan’s project managers addressed additional intricacies such as high traffic locations, limited access to the sites, lack of storage space, and stringent zoning and permit regulations.
