Bar Beacon

The Hotel Beacon is located at Broadway and 75th Street in New York City, steps from Lincoln Center. Mc Gowan was selected to serve as General Contractor for the renovations of Hotel Beacon's lobby lounge, restaurant and back of house areas.

The project scope included construction of a newly designed Bar Beacon in the lobby area of the 260 room luxury hotel as well as performing significant renovations in the hotel's restaurant support and administrative spaces. 

Work entailed demolition of targeted spaces in the hotel's first floor and lower level. The newly designed interiors featured installation of restaurant equipment, a modern bar and lounge, food preparation areas and guest restrooms on the first floor. In addition, a new kitchen and pantry along with a multi-purpose area, fitness center and office space were constructed in the building's lower level.

The endeavor was undertaken in a guest-occupied business requiring careful planning and the continuous daily attention to on-site safety. Our project team worked closely with hotel staff to coordinate the daily and nightly project activities surrounding its subcontractors and equipment vendors. Mc Gowan successfully achieved the Hotel Beacon’s ambitious project schedule, completing the project’s extensive renovations while maintaining the quality of the hotel guests' experience during the 14-week project period.
