Mc Gowan served as General Contractor for a new 40,000 square foot Bally Total Fitness club constructed on three floors, including the lower level of a commercial building.
The space features a reception area, exercise rooms, a juice bar, two 4,000 sq ft locker rooms with bathrooms and showers, sales and management offices and new mechanical rooms.
The complete fitout of the club encompassed all new finishes and new MEP systems. The finishes include ceramic tile, carpet, maple hardwood flooring with a rubber foundation, painted sheetrock, glass and elastic foam walls, sheetrock ceilings, and suspended, pendant, and recessed lighting. Portions of the ceilings are finished with a three-inch layer of orange-colored, spray-on K-2 acoustical insulation foam.
At the beginning of construction, Mc Gowan separated a 1,000 sq ft area to serve as the club’s temporary sales office. After the team completed the majority of construction activities throughout the space the temporary sales office was converted to a juice bar and a permanent office was created at a different location adjacent to the management office. New food service equipment was installed in the juice bar area, including refrigerators, food processors, plumbing and a service counter.
